No Cell Phone?
How would you feel about not having a cell phone any more? Lost? Confused? Scared? Concerned?
Quite some time ago, our household ditched the land line and went strictly with cell phones. Now, I’m considering leaving behind the cell phone.
I have an IPhone 3g that has pretty much been turned into a piece of crap. (I take 90% of the responsibility for this) All the buttons are broken, it won’t connect to wi-fi, the data has stopped working, the phone function intermittently freezes and doesn’t allow me to make phone calls… It is clearly time to get a new phone but the process of pick out and paying for a new phone that will be obsolete in 5 minutes frustrates me!
Last night my phone’s battery died. Not permanently I’m sure, I could plug it back in but to be honest I’m not sure I want to. I set up a google voice account that I could use in place of a cell phone. Not exactly the same thing but at least people could still send me a text or leave me a voice mail.
So let me know what you think! Could you live without your cellphone? Have you given up the use of your cellphone? Do you use google voice? Have any tips for going cell phone free?

we’re also ditching our cellphones (& no land line) we’re just not that attached to them. looking at Google voice and Skype as alternatives.

My advice, avoid the iPhone 3GS / 4 8 GB, storage is too small. Get an iPhone 4S, OR get a 16 GB or higher used iPhone 3GS or 4 online.

I don’t know that I could give up my cellphone. It has been very handy for me in roadside emergencies.
